1000 Hour Esthetics Program

The 1000-Hour Esthetics Program exposes students to a wide breadth of skincare education coupled with extensive hands-on training, field trips, and proven business management practices. Class sizes are small to ensure each student receives the proper attention and support, and class schedules are flexible to accommodate busy lifestyles. Traditional and Hybrid schedules are available.

What are the eligibility requirements for attending the 1000-Hour Esthetics Program?

To attend the program, the following requirements must be met:

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age at the time of enrollment

  • Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to attend classes

Our modern, comprehensive curriculum includes the following: Anatomy, Physiology, Product Ingredients, Skin Analysis, Facials, Chemical Peels, Microdermabrasion, Dermaplaning, HydraFacial, Full Body Waxing, Brazilian Waxing, Sugaring, Lash Extensions, Brow Lamination, Brow Tinting, Brow Waxing, Lash Lift, Lash Curl, Lash Tinting, Business Management and so much more!

How long will it take to complete the 1000-Hour Esthetics Program?

The 1000-Hour Esthetics Program can be completed in 9 months via the Traditional Day schedules (Schedule A and B) or in 12 months via the Traditional Evening schedule (Schedule C) or Hybrid schedules (Schedule D and E).

What is the difference between the Traditional and Hybrid programs?

In the traditional program, the student completes the theory and the hands-on portion of the program simultaneously on-campus. With the hybrid program, the student must first complete theory online. The hands-on portion is then completed in person.

What are the options for class schedules?

We offer a variety of class schedules to meet the needs of busy lifestyles. Choose from the following:
Traditional Day - Schedule A: Monday and Tuesday (8:30am - 4:00pm)
Traditional Day - Schedule B: Wednesday and Thursday (8:30am - 4:00pm)
Traditional Evening - Schedule C: Monday and Tuesday (5pm - 9:30pm)
Hybrid Evening - Schedule D: Wednesday and Thursday (5pm - 9:30pm)
Hybrid Day - Schedule E: Friday and Saturday (8:30am - 1pm)

What is the cost of the Esthetics Program?

The costs of the programs are as follows:
Traditional Program = $14,250 (tuition) + $1500 (student kit fee)
Hybrid Program = $12,250 (tuition) + $1500 (student kit fee)

Do you accept Financial Aid?

We do not currently accept financial aid but offer affordable payment plans and scholarships to help with the program's cost.

What are the available payment plans, and how do I apply for scholarships?

Payment plans are customized based on the individual student’s needs. Scholarships are also available for students who qualify. Payment plan options and scholarship applications will be available during the school tour.

How are payments collected?

Payments must be made electronically via debit card, credit card, or ACH transfer.

Can I finish the program sooner than 9 months?

The Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers requires esthetics programs to be a minimum of 9 months long. Therefore, the program cannot be completed sooner than 9 months.

Are transfer students from other schools or neighboring states accepted?

Admissions for transfer students are considered on an individual basis. Please call Student Services at 470.299.2422 or email info@theskininstituteatl.com to request additional information about the transfer process.

What is a typical class size at The Skin Institute of Atlanta?

Typical class size ranges from 6 - 16. We provide a boutique learning environment committed to maintaining small class sizes so that students feel supported by instructors.

How do I schedule a tour?

How do I complete the Admissions Application?

Application instructions and a link to the admissions application will be provided during the school tour.

What are the upcoming start dates?

The start date depends on the program (Traditional or Hybrid) and class schedule (Schedules A-E). The current list of start dates can be found here, along with the applicable application deadlines.

What is the dress code for the 1000-Hour Esthetics Program?

Students must dress in black scrubs and black close-toed sneakers. Hair must be pulled back and secured away from the face. Lash extensions and nail enhancements are strictly prohibited.

After completing the Esthetics Program, will I be a licensed esthetician?

After completing the 1000-Hour esthetics program, the student must pass the two- part state board esthetics examination. After successfully passing both parts of the exam, the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers will issue the esthetics license.

After the 1000-Hour Esthetics Program is completed, is there assistance for job placement?

Yes! We offer a network of med spas, facial studios, lash boutiques, and salons that we work with to assist new graduates with finding employment.

2. Book a Tour

Schedule a tour to visit The Skin Institute of Atlanta by clicking here. During the tour, you will have the opportunity to view the beautiful facility, equipment, classrooms, and treatment rooms. There will also be an opportunity to speak with an admissions representative about the esthetics program and your career goals. A tour must be completed as a part of the admissions process. The tour must be completed prior to applying for admission.

3. Apply for Admission

After completing the tour, you will be provided with a link to apply for admission to your desired program. The Application for Admission includes an application fee of $100.
